As someone who cares deeply about the health of my patients, I want to make sure that our office is a place that you can turn to for reliable care during these times of uncertainty. Therefore, we will remain open for business, making every attempt to provide a safe environment for everyone. We’re also trying to stagger patients so that there will rarely be more than one patient in the waiting room at any given time.
TELEMEDICINE AND PHONE CONSULTATIONS:
For patients who are already exhibiting symptoms (fever, new onset cough, shortness of breath), or for anyone who wants to avoid coming to the office, we’re offering telemedicine options, including secure video chats or phone consultations. This will assure that you still have access to care when you need it. If you already have an upcoming appointment, but would prefer the telemedicine option, just let us know in advance, and we’ll make arrangements. You can also schedule a consultation follow-up with this option, especially if you don’t have the ability to leave your home!
While the details are constantly evolving, we expect that most insurance carriers are going to agree to cover these services as if they are a typical in-office visit. In fact, most insurance carriers are waiving copays and deductibles, although the details are still being worked out. We’ll also offer a discounted rate to patients who are paying out of pocket.
SUPPLEMENT ORDERS:
We’re working hard to keep relevant immune support products on hand to use for both preventive and acute purposes (including fever and cough). If you’re in need of something to boost your immunity, or just want to take care of your normal refills, you can either pick them up at our office, or we can make arrangements to have them drop shipped to you directly. We also have an online dispensary that offers a number of options.
TESTING AND TREATMENT:
When it comes to testing, we’re attempting to make referrals based on the criteria put forth by the CT Department of Public Health. For more information about symptoms that warrant a referral for testing, as well as contact info for our local COVID-19 hotline, you can visit this site here.
If you think you’ve been exposed, or think you may need a referral for testing, please don’t hesitate to give the office a call.
SUMMARY:
Obviously, this is new territory for most of us, and we’re all working together to navigate different challenges as they come our way.
Each and every one of you have turned to this medicine at some point in your life, and one of the main reasons that it works? Not just because of what I’m doing, but because it empowers YOU! It’s helped you realize how much control you have over your own health, and the remarkable job the body can do when it comes to overcoming pain, sickness, and DIS-ease. This scenario is no different. I’ve seen all of you overcome worse than what this virus can do, so don’t let the fear wear you down!
Grateful to be in this fight together,
Dr. Matthew Fisel
P.S. Please don’t hesitate to share with friends and family who are looking for testing and/or treatment resources, as the more people we can help, the better!
